Overview

Beauty That's More Than Skin Deep

Petrarch reconstituted stone rainscreen panels have been tried, tested, and trusted for over 50 years. Composed primarily of reconstituted marble and stone that is upcycled rather than discarded, Petrarch blends the natural character of stone with exacting, long-term performance — designed to endure the worst that nature can deliver, just like a material made by nature itself.

Backed by a 50-year warranty, Petrarch is NFPA 285 compliant and Class A rated (ASTM E84), making it suitable for a wide range of building applications. It offers best-in-class low moisture absorption and best-in-class impact and flexural strength, yet is considerably lighter than natural stone systems and an excellent alternative to GFRC cladding. Petrarch panels will not delaminate, decay, picture-frame, or effloresce — and like natural stone, the material matures over time, giving character and depth to any architectural scheme.

Petrarch Systems

Face-Fixed System

The most economical and straightforward way to install Petrarch. Panels are mechanically fastened to a vertical aluminum subframe with color-matched rivets, or to timber battens with color-matched Torx screws — available in both 7mm and 10mm panels. Fasteners are powder-coated to match the panel finish, and panels can be supplied pre-drilled to site.

Mechanical Secret Fix

A fully concealed attachment with no visible fasteners. Aluminum panel hangers are secured to factory-prepared inserts in the rear of the panel and hook onto a horizontal carrier rail, creating a clean, uninterrupted panel face with fine on-site leveling adjustment. Uses 10mm panels. (Downer DCS004 support system.)

Adhesive Secret Fix

Petrarch panels are bonded to a vertical grid of extruded aluminum support frames using an approved adhesive system combined with double-sided fixing tape — no visible fixings and no drilling through the panel face. Sika is the approved adhesive system in the US. A clean, monolithic appearance, well suited to smooth finishes.

Petrarch Planx

The slimline plank evolution of Petrarch. Composed of 75% upcycled marble and stone, Planx installs as narrow, contemporary planks for a refined linear facade — delivering the same strength, weather resistance, and long-term performance as full-format Petrarch. Available in multiple lengths, with custom formats on request.

Finishes

Colors & Textures

Petrarch offers one of the widest palettes in architectural cladding, letting a facade blend into its surroundings or stand out as a bold statement.

Textures

Four distinctive finishes: Riven, Riven Matte, Smooth, and Smooth Matte. Riven and Riven Matte are directional; Smooth and Smooth Matte are non-directional.

Colors

Sixteen standard colors plus more than 1,700 custom-developed shades, including 3D options. Specialist molds, perforations, and project-specific personalization can be incorporated for fully bespoke facades.

Samples and the full color range are available through CLADDCO.

Sustainability

Upcycled by Design. Built to Endure.

Petrarch panels are composed primarily of reconstituted marble and stone — natural by-product material that is upcycled rather than discarded — and the slimline Planx range is made from 75% upcycled content. Sustainability is built into the material itself, not added to it.

That commitment runs through the full lifecycle. Off-cuts are transformed into samples and packaging wherever possible, panels arrive cut and fabricated to specification to reduce on-site waste, and manufacturing is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accredited. Backed by a 50-year warranty, a Petrarch facade rarely needs replacement — and the longest-lasting material is almost always the most sustainable one.
